Yor Forger, born Yor Briar, is a city hall employee and an assassin known as the Thorn Princess in Spy x Family. She enters a marriage of convenience with Loid Forger, unaware that he is a spy, and becomes Anya's adoptive mother.
Overview
Yor accepts the Forger arrangement to avoid suspicion surrounding unmarried women in Ostania. What begins as mutual cover gives her a place to explore family life beyond the dangerous work she began to support her younger brother.
| Profile | Detail |
|---|---|
| Birth name | Yor Briar |
| Codename | Thorn Princess |
| Occupations | City hall clerk, assassin |
| Affiliation | Garden |
| Japanese voice | Saori Hayami |
Appearance
Yor is a tall woman with long black hair and red eyes. At city hall she wears conservative office clothing; as the Thorn Princess, she wears a black dress with gold details and uses two needle-like stilettos. A rose-shaped headband accompanies her assassin attire.
Personality
Yor is gentle, earnest, and socially awkward outside combat. She worries that her limited domestic experience makes her an inadequate wife or mother, even though Anya responds most strongly to her patience and willingness to protect the family.
As an assassin, Yor becomes focused and decisive. She accepts Garden's missions as a way to preserve peace in Ostania, but family life increasingly gives her a personal reason to question danger and return home safely.
History
After losing her parents, Yor begins assassination work to provide for her younger brother Yuri. She maintains a clerical job as a public cover and keeps the nature of her work secret from him.
Yor meets Loid when she needs a partner for a social event and he needs a mother for Anya's Eden Academy interview. Their improvised agreement becomes a legal marriage, creating the Forger household.
Family outings, school crises, and Garden assignments place Yor's two lives in constant tension. Although she misunderstands many normal conventions, she repeatedly demonstrates that emotional presence matters more than performing an idealized domestic role.
Abilities and Fighting Style
| Ability | Application |
|---|---|
| Superhuman strength | Overpowers armed opponents and launches objects with extreme force. |
| Speed and reflexes | Closes distance before enemies can react. |
| Stiletto combat | Uses paired piercing weapons with precise lethal technique. |
| Durability | Continues fighting after severe impacts and injuries. |
| Poison tolerance | Resists substances that incapacitate ordinary people. |
Yor's combat ability is intentionally extreme even within the series' heightened action. Her main limitations are social judgment and efforts to keep that strength from exposing her cover.
Relationships
Loid Forger
Loid gives Yor a socially credible marriage, but she increasingly values his patience and the stability they create together. Neither knows the other's real occupation.
Anya Forger
Yor becomes fiercely protective of Anya. Her direct affection helps Anya feel secure even when Yor doubts her own qualifications as a parent.
Yuri Briar
Yuri is Yor's younger brother and the original reason she became an assassin. Their devotion is real, though Yuri's dependence and secret role in the State Security Service complicate the family.
